Additional Details

Heber Honestman (circa 1690-1768) was a freed slave in Easton, MA; Hagar Honestman was apparently his wife. This document describes the boundaries of "ten acres of land Heber & Hager Honestmans being a man and a women Negros conveys to Nathan Hodges." In the early 1740s Heber and his second wife became the first colonial settlers of Ashfield on the western Massachusetts frontier.
