In the Shadow of Forward Motion was a multi-media performance with Wojnarowicz delivering the powerful, hypnotic and angry spoken word aspect and music, composed by Ben Neill. First staged at New York's Kitchen, it included dancers, four monitors for showing videos, and two screens for slide projections.
