An extraordinary early overview of the American post-Civil War poster scene, in which theatrical posters were offered for sale "per hundred." This 300+ page printer's sample book contains many hundreds of illustrations of available stock posters, which are shown full page, half page and double page. The available cuts are one-, two-, and 4-sheet posters available in up to four colors. The reproductions are in color, monochrome and black and white. Each is numbered (for easy ordering) and titled. Recognizable productions include "Streets of New York," "Sinbad," "Cinderella," "Little Red Riding Hood," Rip Van Winkle," "Robinson Crusoe," and "Daniel Boone." There are also samples of mortised designs for dodgers, small programme cuts, and card designs. We could only find one other record of this rare book having come up for auction in the last fifteen years.sold as is
