This charming landscape is likely a view of the picturesque fishing village of Honfluer, where Woodruff lodged in the summer of 1928. Woodruff was in the second year of his French sojourn after arriving in Paris in the fall of 1927 with money earned from his Harmon Foundation prize. Leininger-Miller p. 119.
