Apparently the first of many broadside printings of Franklin's popular essay, a compilation of his proverbs which first appeared in the Poor Richard for 1758. It includes a short note from the English publishers, asking "Shall we brother Englishmen refuse good sense and saving knowledge because it comes from the other side of the water?" Ford 119.
