[Psalter with calendar, litany, and miscellaneous texts.] manuscript in latin on vellum, written in small gothic hand in black ink with headings, rubrics, and portions of calendar in red, 34 lines, double columns apart from calendar in single columns, with signatures and decorated catchwords. 4-line initial D on A8v, S on C6v, and E in D4r in gold on rose and blue ground extending into foliate borders; 2-line initials in blue with penwork decoration and marginal extensions in red, and 1-line initials alternately in blue and red. Ruled in red throughout. [65] (of [70]) leaves ([-] in 6, A-H in 8); lacks a1, b5, c2, e1, and e7. 143x95 mm, russet leather by Zaehnsdorf with gilt monogram AMH on front cover; varying marginal soiling, substantial portions of text rubbed affecting legibility, signatures partly cropped, holes through first leaf with text loss, gnawing in blank lower inner corner of last 2 quires, blank corners off a few leaves elsewhere. Stamp of A[.?] G. & M. Hammond (MS. 14) on front pastedown. England, 14th century
