Pair of photographic flip books, one captioned "Lancia Fiat Car, Turning Krug's Corner" and the other "Le Blon, Thomas Car, Taking the Hairpin Curve." Each 32 pages plus postcard in rear. The pages of these small volumes can be flipped to create a primitive motion picture; both of these show cars racing toward the viewer during the annual Vanderbilt Cup race held on Long Island. The books convey the real danger of the race, held on a winding course through residential streets; a spectator was killed that year. None seen at auction, and only one (caption not specified) on OCLC.
