Swiss-born Hans Neuburg, an influential figure in the design and typography world, met German-born Anton Stankowski in Zürich in 1916 at the Dalang advertising agency. Stankowski, himself a pioneer in advertising photography, "became a key figure in a circle of young designers in Zürich. Hans Neuburg, for a while, shared a Zürich apartment with him" (Swiss Graphic Design p. 100-1). This poster, for a brand of beef bouillon is one of the most famous examples of their work as a team. "Stankowski distorted and angled the image - the woman appears as a cheerful, maternal figure seen from the eye level of a child" (ibid. p. 104). This is the German version.
