CHARLES LOUPOT (1892-1962) [ART DECO FASHION.] Two pochoir prints. Circa 1924.
Each approximately 14 1/2x10 3/4 inches, 46 3/4x27 1/4 cm. Heim, Paris.
Condition varies, generally A. Paper. Matted and framed.
These delicate prints are among the very few Loupot did. The first image was originally intended to be used as a magazine advertisement, and it eventually appeared in a slightly altered state (without the man, and with a bottle) as an ad for the aperitif "Paris Sport." As it appears here, the print is avant-garde in its layout, elegantly drawn and skillfully printed. It was most likely printed in a very small run. The second image has an extremely daring, plunging distorted perspective. The trees and the couple in the background echo Loupot's green Voisin poster, which was published by Devambez the same year. This print is as rare and sophisticated as the other. Loupot / Musee de l'Affiche no. 16 & 17, Loupot 56.
