Archive of the military photographer Solomon Goldberg, Flight Officer Air Corps, Army of the U.S., containing more than 1200 photographs.
With World War II-era military and aviation activities in China, plus an assortment of photographs depicting Chinese vendors, maritime views, street scenes, religious statuary, architecture, farming scenes, behind-the-scenes photographs of military life, rural views, and pictures of Okinawa. Silver prints, the images measuring 3 1/2x4 1/2 to 7 3/4x9 3/4 inches (8.9x11.4 to 19.7x24.8 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, some with handwritten notations on verso. Contemporary 3-ring binders (4); the prints individually sleeved. 1941-46

Binder #1: 366 photographs, largely of China;
Binder #2: 400 photographs, including military scenes of flying and downed aircraft, reconaissance scenes, and the photographer at work;
Binder #3: 280 photographs of soldiers hanging out, performing in a play, and working on reconstruction efforts in Okinawa after the second World War, as well as a view of Eisenhower and parade preparations;
Binder #4: 100 photographs of Chinese people, all of which are on 10x8-inch sheets.
