Additional Details

An early work by Gorey at a time when he was experimenting with more color and the design of what would become his Mr. Earbrass character. In addition to his definitive linework, classic Gorey tropes are evident in the drawing: a samovar, large-headed and bearded men in fur robes, and the examination of curious objects.
