Additional Details

An excellent eighteenth-century survey of a vast tract of frontier land in Franklin County, northeast Georgia. The grant was originally made in the name of Daniel Beall and has been presently re-surveyed by Claud Thomson at the request of Patrick Cruikshanks. The expanse lays on the waters of the Broad river and has been divided into 148 smaller parcels, presumably for subsequent resale by Cruikshanks. The surveyor Thomson has eloquently penned a lengthy promotional description of the property on the back of the map, relating the general high quality of the surrounding resources, proximity to amenities, and the great potential for all manner of agricultural success within the tract.
