The message on the verso of this piece is to "Jim" [Fouratt], regarding Wojnarowicz's desire to get a job at Danceteria. The image is from his series of pictures taken throughout New York, entitled Rimbaud in New York, which was comprised of 24 black-and-white images, experimenting with the juxtaposition of history by placing the poet Arthur Rimbaud (1854-1891) in contemporary New York scenes.
