      Portrait of Charles Beach as the Arrow Collar Man. Illustration for Arrow Collars advertisement. Oil on canvas. Circular image measuring approximately 178x127 mm; 7x5 inches, with irregularly cut edges, laid to 7 1/2x5 1/2-inch contemporary thin plywood panel. Spot of loss in lower left image, scuffing, and shallow surface abrasions; contemporary owner's notes identifying ad and dating the work to 1920 on panel verso.

      Charles Beach was Leyendecker's partner and muse. He became the most famously recognizable model for the artist's trade character, The Arrow Collar Man. This handsome portrait is in the style of the campaign's print ads which featured a circular profile of The Arrow Collar Man which would be framed by a decorative border with copy below.
