Albumen photograph, 8 x 9 3/4 inches, on original mount, with inked photographer's stamp and manuscript caption on verso; moderate soiling and wear to mount, but image quite clean. Tucson, AZ, [1890?]

      The caption names most of the chained convicts: Miguel; (unidentified); Gon Chee, Chief (seated); Sayes; and Bask-Ka-Lah. We have traced no other examples of this compelling image.
