first edition. A compilation of traditional Cherokee herbal cures for cancer, asthma, sore nipples, cholera, bruised eye, deafness, and a variety of other ailments. This copy is printed from an earlier and completely different setting of type than the copy at the National Library of Medicine. The title page reads the same, except this copy has a notice reading "Copy right secured," with the verso blank; the library copy has no copyright notice on recto, and a full Tennessee copyright statement on verso. The present copy ends with a 27 May 1827 testimonial from George L. Gates; the library copy replaces Gates with a 5 August testimonial, and a notice that the first 3000 copies were sold out within 20 days.
