      This handsome 3/4-length view depicts Hancock holding a letter to General Putnam which he has for some reason drafted in French. The less common of the 2 Shepherd prints of Hancock, both engraved anonymously after paintings by the otherwise mysterious Littleford. Fowble, American Prints 63.
