Jules Édouard Roiné (1857-1916), born in France and established in New York, was one of leading medalists of the early 20th century. This plaquette was cast by Whitehead & Hoag to help the American Numismatic Society commemorate the centennial of Lincoln's birth. It shows Lincoln being crowned with a garland by Liberty, similar to the earlier painting "Liberty Crowning her Martyr" (see lot 71).Price Realized (with Buyer's Premium) $688
