      (SLAVE DOCUMENT.) Handwritten document of indenture. Folio leaf, folded to form four pages, written on two; paper toned with some light mottling; creased where folded. Wherein Jacob Waltham, "late a slave to Lefferts Lefferts of King's County," indentures himself, his wife Elizabeth and their two children, James and Aurelia to Lefferts Lefferts who had manumitted them the previous day. Witnessed and signed by John Nostrand and Lambert Suydam and signed by Abraham Luguer as Justice. Jacob Waltham has signed with an "X" next to his name. Brooklyn, 16 February 1787
