The Ocean Monarch was built by Vickers-Armstrong in 1951, pictured here alongside the Queen of Bermuda (built 1933). Treidler was a prolific illustrator and commercial artist who created numerous propaganda posters for the United States during both World Wars. He worked for the Furness Line from the 1930s onwards, becoming their in-house designer in the 1960s. He did advertisements specifically for the island of Bermuda, separate from the shipping company, and also did work for other ocean liner companies, Wells Fargo, New York Central Lines and international airlines.
