Provenance: Donald Morris Gallery, Detroit and New York, with the labels on the frame back; private collection, New York.
Painted on offset printed paper, Bob Thompson often drew or painted directly onto the pages of art reproductions to make studies for his oil paintings. Thompson painted a number of scenes depicting the mythology of the Trojan War in 1964 including The Judgment of Paris in the collection of the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute Museum of Art, Utica, NY.
