      "Kind solace in a dying hour!" Headpiece for the poem "Tamerlane" from "The Bells and Other Poems" by Edgar Allan Poe (London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1912). Pen and ink on paper laid to board. 121x178 mm; 4 3/4x7 inches, laid to 10 1/4x12 1/4-inch board. Initialled and dated "E.D. [19]12" in lower left image, captioned in the artist's hand in lower margin. Taped to window matte.
