Ex-collection Edward Rudge, pencil inscription verso (see Lugt 900, who notes that Rudge formed one of the preeminent collections of Rembrandt etching in England during the 19th century). A superb impression of this very scarce, early etching, with strong contrasts and no sign of wear, consistent with the earliest impressions of this subject.
