ROGER BRODERS (1883-1953) LE TOUR DU MT. BLANC. 1927.
41x29 inches, 104x73 3/4 cm. Lucien Serre, Paris.
Condition A-: small tear at top edge; creases in margins and text. Paper. Matted and framed.
One of the more unique compositions in Broders' exceptional portfolio of travel posters, in that it provides a creative, figurative description of the scene. For tours around Mt. Blanc, he shows one of the railway buses spiraling around the mountain, along the text. It is also his only poster to employ metallic gold ink. Alpi / Manifesti 36, Broders p. 68, Perry / Broders p. 63, Hillion p. 251, Voyage p. 36, Golden Age 138.
