WALLACE, DAVID FOSTER. Mr. Costigan in May [in] Clarion: Writing at Amherst. Illustrated. 8vo, original teal printed wrappers, saddle-stitched, tiny nick to top of backstrip. first edition of wallace's first published story. Clarion was the Amherst College student literary journal. Written during his senior year there, the seven-page story was incorporated into his debut novel, The Broom of the System. The story is attributed to "Dave Wallace" while the staff credit reads "David Wallace." One of an unknown number with no copies traced at auction. Very scarce. [Amherst]: [Amherst College], (1985)
