Tepper, another accomplished illustrator who developed his craft at the Grand Central Art School under Harvey Dunn, had a long and prolific career, winning numerous awards and teaching at noted art institutes. He was also a successful songwriter, whose compositions were recorded by Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Glenn Miller, among others. In addition to G.E., his advertisement illustrations represented the products of marketing giants Coca-Cola, Mobil and Texaco. He was elected to the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1980 where he also taught for many years.
