Additional Details

Lively biographies of the last surviving American Revolution veterans, with photographic portraits and lithographs of their homes, published during the Civil War. Goldschmidt, Truthful Lens, page 86; Howes H490; Sabin 31871.
Oddly enough, this volume did not include the actual final surviving Revolutionary War veteran, Daniel Frederick Bakeman (1759-1869), who was not found because by 1864 he had never applied for a pension. He finally got on the rolls in 1867. Laid into this volume is an 1868 carte-de-visite photograph of Bakeman by A.D. Cross.
