A miniature archive containing 33 photographs of Atlantic gas station locations in Pennsylvania.
Mostly viewed from across the street, the photographs depict the mainly standardized Atlantic formation, complete with car wash, lubrication garage, and a clerk's store/office. The depicted service stations are busy with numerous gas-guzzling vehicles on the lot, stacks of tires and oil cans out front, and period signage for Atlantic, as well as other automotive companies. Silver prints, the images each measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), sleeved recto/verso, each with a brief location description, and some with the date, in the negative or on print recto, in ink. 4to, black leatherette, gilt-lettered and debossed red company logo; split-pin binding. 1930s-40s
