(WARNER BROTHERS SET RANCH)
Thick album with 86 photographs of convincing movie sets on the Warner Bros. Ranch backlot during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
The album portrays a vast array of varied set designs, including medieval-style fortifications for the shooting of Robin Hood; a Chinese-Mexican Mission; a large jail with barred windows; and a number of generic towns and main street scenes, such as Frisco St., New York St., Brownstone St., Canadian St., New England St., and Southern homes. Each of the images includes a chalk board in the foreground including the set name, lighting, and time of day. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), some with linen category tabs affixed on recto. Oblong 4to, black leatherette with a stenciled title; twin-bolt binding. 1930s
