Three of the photographs show Amelia Earhart: emerging from a plane in Londonderry, Ireland after her cross-Atlantic flight, 20 May 1932; with Eleanor Roosevelt, 5 March 1935; and walking through a London Boy Scout honor guard, 29 June 1928. Women in aviation is a recurring theme, from two 1939 shots of Chinese-American pilot Hilda Yen through portraits of female commercial pilots dated 1978 and 1980. Several 1920s photographs depict pilot Clarence Chamberlain.
