Cleaver, shown here with a raised rifle and a hint of a smile, was running for the 18th Assembly District in the Peace & Freedom Party line. The same advertisement ran in the Black Panther newspaper, but this poster version was printed by Success Books, a black-owned bookstore which was at this 146 Leavenworth address from at least 1966 to 1968. We trace no other copies at auction or in OCLC.
