This rally was held at Lytton Plaza in Palo Alto, a regular countercultural meeting spot just north of the Stanford University campus. It was sponsored not by Stanford, but rather by the White Panthers, Midpeninsula Free University, and the Revolutionary Union. Performances by the bands Osceola, Helix and Beggar's Opera were promised, and attendees were urged to bring banners, toys, and noisemakers.
