Expanded third edition. This edition features the first attributed book publication of John Muir's writings, in the form of his long letter on the Yosemite glaciers, pages 90-91 (BAL 14733). The photographs are credited on the title page to John P. Soule, who never actually visited California. They may have been by Edward Muybridge. Cowan 1933, page 333.
