Additional Details

The twin-screw vessel began her career as the "Duchess of Bedford" in 1928. She served under that name throughout World War II and carried over 150,000 allied troops in the war effort. She was renamed the "Empress of France" in 1947, underwent structural changes in 1958, and was scrapped in 1961.
