Additional Details

The Crewe Circle, a well-known spiritualist group, was associated with Arthur Conan Doyle, of Sherlock Holmes fame. Outspoken and ardent in his beliefs, Holmes wrote a number of texts defending the practice. After William Hope, who founded and led the so-called Crewe Circle, was outed as a fraud, Holmes led his defense.
