Additional Details

An advertisement for a five-act performance of the Greek legend of Damon and Pythias staged by the Elite Dramatic Club, with C. Duane Tilghman and E.E. Jones starring in the title roles and a cast of 35. It was staged at the 14th Biennial Moving Committee convention of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, one of the leading Black fraternal societies. Tilghman and Jones gave at least one other performance of Damon and Pythias with the Elite Dramatic Club, for another fraternal society in Atlantic City in 1924 (see the Atlantic City Gazette-Review, 8 October 1924).

The card was sent by a woman named Mollie to her friend in Chambersburg, PA: "Dear Ikey, here is a souvenir card from the convention. . . . "
