Second English edition, newly translated, of this important Portuguese narrative by "A Gentleman of Elvas." When first published in 1557, it was only the second printed account of Florida. Also included as appendices are English translations of two voyages to Tartary, and also "A New Descent of the Spaniards on the Island of California"--the first appearance in English of Atondo y Antillón's 1686 letter.
