Abum with 320 photographs of Texaco gas stations located in upstate New York, with blueprints, leasing details, and related ephemera.
The photographs record a variety of properties that include vernacular structures situated near highways and byways from different perspectives. Gas pumps, trucks, automobiles, and Texaco's familiar star logo are prominently displayed, and some of the facilities include garages or attached two-story residential units. Details such as the price of the land and value of the building in addition to the name of the city and street location accompany the photographs. The album was compiled by Z&M Independent Oil Company, apparently the agent responsible for leasing the properties. Silver prints, the images measuring 3 1/2x6 inches (8.9x15.2 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, with 2 to 12 prints stapled to each page. Thick 4to, 1/4 morocco and cloth, twin-bolt binding. 1937-38
