An illustrated brochure for "a research room on the Negro established in 1925 . . . to arouse race consciousness and race pride" housed that the New York Public Library's Harlem branch on 135th Street. Its centerpiece was the "rare collection purchased in 1926 from Arthur A. Schomburg, Negro Book Collector and Antiquarian, of Porto Rican birth" (described at length). Alain Locke's Blondiau Theatre Arts collection and the library's regular art exhibitions are also noted, as well as sculpture lent by Augusta Savage. None traced in OCLC.
