Beautiful album containing 50 photographs by Kimbei Kamamura and others depicting landscapes, street scenes and charming occupationals, with studies of temples, architecture, geishas and tradesmen. Hand-colored, mounted albumen prints, each measuring approximately 8x10 inches (20.3x25.4 cm.), and the reverse, most with the original tissue guards, many with the caption in English and inventory number in the negative. Oblong folio, elaborate red lacquer covers depicting a woman in a hand-drawn rickshaw with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background in gilt highlights and ivory inlay; gilt-lettered leather backstrip; with the retailer's name, Tadashi Fukasawa, and address label front pastedown; all edges gilt. Circa 1890
