(MANSON FAMILY)
A small archive with 19 press photographs pertaining to Charles Manson's Family and the Tate-LaBianca murder trials.
Containing numerous images of Charles Manson, Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel during, before, and after the trial in which a jury "decreed death in the gas chamber." In multiple photographs the "family" are shown as an eerily cheerful bunch, even when facing such grave sentencing. Also present are images of Linda Kasabian, a former "family" member and key witness during the trial; Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring; and a photograph by Manson of an armored "command vehicle" on the Barker Ranch in Death Valley. Silver prints, the images measuring 9x7 inches (22.9x17.8 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, nearly all with typed captions in the negative, and with notations, in pencil, and hand stamps on verso. 1969-71
