One full-page color frontispiece illustration, plus 4 smaller illustrations. Folio, 12 x 8 inches, contemporary tinted mottled calf gilt, minor wear, tasteful restoration to lower backstrip; early patterned pastedowns, lacking free endpapers, internally quite clean; modern dealer tag on front pastedown, modern inked private library ex-libris stamps on flyleaves. The four smaller illustrations show the arms of four prominent Mexican families: a rampant lion for Berdugo or Verdugo, 13 golden spots signifying the heads of decapitated Moors for Davila, two wolves for Haro or Aro, and two lions standing on a tower for Torre or Thorre. The frontispiece shows the a coat of arms displaying the devices of the four families together.
