The four smaller illustrations show the arms of four prominent Mexican families: a rampant lion for Berdugo or Verdugo, 13 golden spots signifying the heads of decapitated Moors for Davila, two wolves for Haro or Aro, and two lions standing on a tower for Torre or Thorre. The frontispiece shows the a coat of arms displaying the devices of the four families together.
