[28] leaves. 4to, contemporary vellum, moderate wear, sticker remnant on backstrip; title page quite defective with loss of bottom half, lacking leaves 2 and 3, all three provided in facsimile, leaves from a 1663 European work used as endpapers, partial marca de fuego on top edge, bottom edge unevenly trimmed with tailpiece grazed, bookplate removed from front pastedown, minor dampstaining toward rear, minor edge wear throughout. The 1614 constitution of the Franciscan province of Santo Evangelio, as amended in 1640. Includes a clause relating to conversions in Nuevo México, and 3 clauses relating to the Indians generally: "doctrina y escuelas"; "amparo y defensa"; and finally "Del castigo de los Indios." One of the last books printed by the founder of the long-running Calderón dynasty, who died later that year.
