Additional Details

limited editions of 400 copies. numbers 289 and 2[75? illegible], respectively, signed by the publisher. Two of the most desirable and scarce of the Szwedzicki folios. The plates show the artwork by Sioux, Shoshone, and Kiowa artists, with the second part containing work exclusively by Amos Bad Heart Buffalo, including a series of famous scenes from the Battle of the Little Big Horn, 17 of which relate entirely to the Custer battle, and others to the Wounded Knee massacre. When the drawings were reproduced in 1967 in A Pictographic History of the Oglala Sioux, they were singled out as a Custer "Highspot"--Luther Highspot 105.
