Additional Details

Only a small, unrecorded number of these bound catalogues are known to exist. The Museum of Modern Art's copy, bound for Steichen, is the only recorded institutional copy. The photographs show Picasso's "space drawings," a technique pioneered by Mili, where the camera lens follows a flashlight, held as a brush or pen, from which a strobe light exposure creates the photograph. The images by Capa of Picasso's family life lent a personal, photojournalistic complement to the exhibition.
