Additional Details

An hourly log of the 9th Precinct, with dozens of entries per day. Most of the action seems to be near Broadway in what is now the Bushwick neighborhood. The longest report is of a burglary ring broken up on 11 August. One of the four men was found in an outhouse at the corner of Jefferson and Patchen, and a search of their lair revealed a vast hoard of purloined jewelry. Other entries are just sad: "At 6 1/2 this a.m., Officer Lund brought a dead new born female child to the station, found in a starch box" (6 September).
