Additional Details

A ledger for a charity hospital exclusively for female slaves. The entries tell a sad story, with about 20% of the women having died soon after their admission, a small inked cross opposite the entry. The name and address of the owner of each person is given, but little about why she was admitted. One person is listed as "mistaken-free," a few seem to indicate a birth.
