Grobes. 153 photographs, 107 of them shot in color and 9 3/4 x 8 inches, and 46 of them shot in black and white and 7 x 5 inches; most with a single mount remnant on verso, otherwise minimal wear. These photographs depict a variety of models, almost all of them African-American, modeling everything from formal business wear to evening gowns to club wear to swimsuits. The only date we find is on a 1984 magazine which one woman is holding. Most of these photographs have no credit stamp or captioning, but they are all clearly from the same studio. A few bear the inked stamps on verso of Arthur E. Grobes (1931-2020) of Philadelphia, who census records identify as Black.
