first and only edition. This pamphlet features an "Address" by Fernando Q. Morton, African American member of the Municipal Civil Service Commission; backed up with some charts and statistics showing how much better off Negroes were with Mayor Walker. Jimmy "Beau James" Walker was known as "the Midnight Mayor," for his fondness for nightclubs and showgirls uptown and down. He defeated his opponent Fiorello LaGuardia handily, but the crash of 1929 was his undoing and La Guardia won the next time out. OCLC locates only one copy at Columbia University's Butler Library.
