Additional Details

An uncommon slave sale document from colonial Pennsylvania. James Kennedy of Frederick, Maryland is selling an eight-year-old boy named Bill to John McClellan of Cumberland County Pennsylvania for the sum of thirty-nine pounds, five shillings and eight pence. The Afrolumens Project web-site does not list a "Bill" or "William" among John McClellan's four slaves.
